In the few chapters we had to read they were talking about how how the great depression cause a change in power. The democrats gained control of the office during the great depression. They helped everyone out during the great depression.
republicans had power over our state for many years, they were in rule of our state when the stock market crashed. then FDR had been elected president, he was a democrat!! he had a plan to help reform america, this plan was the new deal. this plan helped people find jobs and also help to restore the economy. FDR helped bring the nation out of depression
For sixty years the state of Pennsylvania was ruled by the Republicans. The failure of the Republicans in the state and in Washington D.C. With the Great Depression going on, led to the election of Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt. During the Great Depression the cultural changed. Detroit's Father Coughlin, who had millions of listeners that were against Roosevelt's New Deal.
The republican Party had been in office for a long time. When the great depression hit the republicans became the ones to be blamed. When FDR became president it was the change the nation was looking for. FDR tried the method of the "NEW DEAL" to try and pull Americans out of the Depression. The "NEW DEAL" gave more money to the poor people and tried to restore balance in the economy.
For 60 years the republicans were in office, until the economic disaster occurred in 1929. The republicans were blamed for this disaster. In the election of 1932 it was a landslide win for the democratic candidate Franklin D. Roosevelt who won over the republican Herbert Hoover. Franklin D. Roosevelt put in place a "new deal" in order to get America out of this great depression.
On October 29, 1929 the stock market crashed at a time when the Republicans ran the government. Everyone immediately put the blame on the the Republicans. When the time for the 1932 election came around the people wanted a change so they voted in the democrat FDR. FDR was ready to make a change and got to work as soon as elected. He made a plan referred to the New Deal in which he wanted to receive relief, recovery, and reform.
Democrat Franklin Roosevelt was elected as president after Republicans demonstrated much failure in office leading up to the Great Depression. Roosevelt promised recovery for the United States and initiated his "New Deal" program, which aimed towards nation wide relief. It used millions of American dollars to fund relief programs. These programs improved economic conditions while providing new facilities in Pennsylvania and nation wide. Roosevelt's program proved to be a great success. The "New Deal" not only improved various conditions, but also realigned America as a whole.
Franklin D. Roosevelt had been the president in 1932 and he had to deal with The Great Depression that was left behind by Herbert D. Hoover. He had intiated The New Deal to help out with it. This was noticed in his first 100 days. The Republicans had messed things up for the state and Washingon, D.C. so they thought that FDR would make things better because he was apart of the Democrats.
Franklin D. Roosevelt was the President during the Great Depression.This caused many to lose almost everything that they had.They lost things like their houses and jobs. FDR thought it to be appropriate to offer relief. Which was the New Deal.The New Deal improved some things. During this time, Republicans ruled for 60 years.
For more than 60 years, republicans had ruled the white house. But when the great depression came, people began to switch sides. Many people thought that Hoover had caused the depression. When FDR was elected into office, he needed to do something and fast. So he came up with the new deal to help people get jobs and earn money. He pulled us out of the depression.

Within the 100 days FDR thought of programs to help the average American.The new deal was the program and it must of worked because got us out from being in the depression.

FDR came up with a way to try and get America out of this jam and created the New Deal. Witth the new deal he intended to use the 3 R's and releive, recover, and reform Ameria.
After the stock market crashed america was in ruin. Every citizen was affected and they blamed the president. So in 1932 FDR was elected president. He had alot of diffrent idead he called the new deals and decided to end the depression.
After electing President Roosevelt in 1932 PA started to get back on track. After 60 years of republicans running America changed with Roosevelt's new deal. PA was the second largest manufacturer state in the country and lost many jobs, although many did recover after Roosevelt's new deal was set in place.

It also gets in to greater detail to tell what kind of work FDR had the unemployed people doing. Coming to the last chapter, chapter 4 tells about jobs people came up with on their own as they decided they wanted to work and make money doing something you enjoyed.

It was the New Deal that pulled America out of the Depression and gave the unemployed a way back into employment.

Chapter two breaks down Pensylvannia's desprate transition from Republican to Democrat. Chapter three restates the main ideas of chapter two and then discusses how, the new Democrat president elected 1932, FDR's "New Deal" took effect. Chapter four talks about America's cultural transformations during the Great Depression.
Well in chapter two it tells about the change of goevrnment,from republican to democrat. Then in chapter three goes into greater detail about chapter two and tells how the democrat took FDR's "new deal" and put it into effect. In the last chapter, Chapter four it tells how the culture changed during the great depression and then how it changed after it was over.
Republicans rulled Pennsylvania for a long time. FDR, a democrat, came in and tried to change everything for the better. He created 'The New Deal' to get America out of the Depression. He succeeded and people's lives were finally getting better.
